Nice foodie!! I give you a 10!
You have one of the best restaurant websites that I have ever read! I am coming down to the Rehoboth area for the second time in my 40+ years this weekend. The first time down was for less than 24 hours. I was fortunate enough to do my homework and had dinner at a(MUSE). It was excellent! Do you have a short list of places that I should not miss in the area? Am willing to travel 30 minutes or so outside of Rehoboth.
[The Foodie complied. Suggestions were made.]
My wife and I just downloaded your spring 2013 updates to your app [Rehoboth In My Pocket]. Amazing! How do you put together all that information!?!? You even have restaurants and hotels that aren't even built yet. We can't wait to come to Rehoboth for Easter, and we will definitely have Rehoboth "in our pockets." As you would say, "such a deal" for $3.99! There's nothing else like it anywhere.
"We love Rehoboth Foodie and check it often when in town."
"Thank you Bob! We love your website, keep it up!!! it makes going out at the beach so much more fun!"
Hi, Bob! Thx for the nice email. It's OK! We went there [Henlopen City Oyster House] the next eve and had the best dinner! It's one of my fav places here now.
Such nice people, and like The Foodie said, great food. They said an hour wait, we ordered the best mojitos I've ever had, then they seated us in 15 minutes by the window. Great service. If we had more vacation nights we'd go back.
But tonight is Big Fish per your review. The R Foodie is an excellent reviewer and website. So glad i found it. Then you send a personal email! So nice of you. Later I checked the HCOH site and it had their current hours. Glad you changed it too. Thx again.
I love your web site. I use it often. My only advice is to keep your off-season calendar up to date as I have visited (or tried to) many restaurants on your list to find they are closed. Thanks!
[ed. note: That's why I post, in bright yellow highlight at both the beginning and the end of the off-season list, the warning that you should always call any place in the off-season. Restaurants often close unexpectedly because of weather, their mood, or private functions. It is impossible to keep up with these last-minute decisions. Also refer you to my FAQ regarding places that are closed when we say they're open.]
My family will be coming to explore Delaware the middle of April. I just found your site and am so impressed with it.
My questions is: Is there another 'food critic' who critiques the northern section of Del.? We are going to be staying in New Castle County for a couple of days. Looking for someone who is honest as you!! [ed. note: The Foodie suggested Matt Amis, who writes for DE Today magazine.]
Your article in today's Cape Gazette was a welcome to the beach that I have been awaiting!
Having lived in both Yonkers and NYC, I have missed the cuisine of the various neighborhoods. The variety one can find within one block! We will most definitely be enjoying Touch of Italy in all of its locations. Thanks for the wonderful article! Mangia!! And bon appetit!
We've been watching the Rehoboth Foodie site grow over the years, and it's really turned into a terrific resource for visitors. Congratulations on your success!
LOVE your site and your reviews, and I recommend you to everyone who lives in or visits the area. The one thing that I'd love to see and that many of my friends would also love to see is a "kid friendliness" rating.....
[ed. note: My popular travel app, Rehoboth In My Pocket has a kid-friendliness rating for every restaurant entry. In fact, there are two separate categories called "Kid Friendly" and "Childs Play" that not only list restaurants that love kids, but kids' activities in general, including miniature golf, Pirate Expeditions, amusement parks, etc. If you have an iPhone, iPad or Android device, you can download the app for only $3.99 from iTunes or Google Play.]
Thanks for all of the work you put into this! It beats all of the fake "we're going to say nothing but wonderful things in order to get a free meal" so-called "reviews" without any competition at all.
Hi! I just found your website. I'm the food critic at [major metro magazine]. I'll be coming to town in a week or two, and wanted to pick your brain for some spots to visit.
I've been coming to Rehoboth for years -- since I was 10, actually. ...Are there places that've opened in the past year that you're particularly enthused about? ... Thanks so much.
My wife and I recently moved to the area. [We] enjoy your information and observations very much. Is there/was there a Sweet Tomatoes in the area? I could swear I saw a sign for one during one of your explorations. Thanks. [ed. note: I suspect you saw "Tomato Sunshine."]
Hi! Thank you for the updated information about our Market!
Question...I'm on your mailing list and get the new reviews, etc. However, I'm wondering if the News, Gossip and Updates info also comes in an email. I missed the Salt Air opening, but just drove by and saw folks inside. Checked your site and saw the news flash.
Certainly want to be sure I don't miss any important RB food news! [ed. note: Yes, everything newly posted within two weeks leading up to the Foodie Digest mailing is included. We might have announced the opening by adding it to an older post which would not be sent as a new one. Because of this, we now rewrite/repost important news so they will show a new date and be sent with the subsequent Foodie Digest mailing. TKS for the heads up!]
After reading your article about the Cake Bar I realized why I like you so much -- you are from Baltimore? Right? Anyhow, I do enjoy reading your articles so keep up the good work!
New to town. Out of town guest want to eat seafood "on the water." Is there a spot in the area that is a great value and is on the water? Thanks for the help. [ed. note: The Foodie sent a number of suggestions, though "great value" and "on the water" are rarely spoken in the same sentence here, or at any popular beach resort.]
Love your site, look at it nearly every day. I am a Board Member of [...]. Can I send you a press release to link to your home page? Thanks so much.
Hi! Love your site -- so much helpful information. I have a suggestion: Since so many restaurants take Mondays off, it would be helpful to have a compiled list of restaurants that are open on Mondays rather than reading through each restaurants' individual information. Thanks! PS: Looking forward to using your app this trip! [ed. note: You can already do that. Just go to the off-season specials/happy hour list and scroll down. Each restaurant's Monday status is listed in the calendar format.]
Glad to see you mentioned the [Rehoboth] dairy on Holland Glade [Road]. [My husband] used to get milk there and heavy cream for me (which I glug straight from the bottle). ... It makes him happy because of his affectionate memories of his grandparents' dairy farm in New Hampshire in his youth.
I often wonder why a restaurant wouldn't strive for the best. This is a small town and word gets around. I'm in the habit of emailing the offending restaurant and the replies have always been apologetic. I have written off a few ([...] being the main offender).
Once again, thank you for your hard gastronomical work.
My husband and I just found your website. THANK YOU!!!!!
Hey, Rehoboth Foodie! This site is AMAZING! Rehoboth needed something like this.
We run a vacation website with our family experiences in Rehoboth. Would you be willing to exchange links with us? I want to list your site under my restaurant section. It would REALLY help my readers and visitors. We love, love, love it. .... Even if you don't want to, we'll probably link to you anyway. This is a wonderful site with lots of great information!!! [ed. note: The reciprocal link to this very kind person is listed under "Links of Interest."]
Hi, Mr. Foodie! Enjoying your site as always.
